  • Use of Internet as knowledge base in office practice;
  • Demonstration of Internet/Healthnet capabilities;
  • Future developments in information system technology and applications.

Pezinok, January 31 - February 4, 1997

The seminar dealt with a topic of using information systems in medical practice and ethical issues in use of health - related information systems.
The composition of the faculty: 2 US experts, 1 British, 2 Austrians and 1 Slovak proved to give the participants different views on the topic.

Demonstration of Internet/Healthnet capabilities

The personal involvement of each one of the faculty members was very high and motivated. After each presentation was an interesting discussion. The participants were composed of health professionals from Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary. Working in groups they discussed the latest informations in medical informatics, shared experiences from using the Internet in medical practice and got informed about Healthnet Slovakia. Doctor Martin Olej presented his own information system of his private practice.The seminar proved its quality and correct orientation.The Health Weekly newspapers will publish extensive interviews with foreign and local faculties and participants.
