|Subject:||US House bill HR 3519 coming to floor for vote on May 15|
It has been revealed this evening by sources at U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Lee's office that House bill H.R. 3519 is being brought to the House floor by the Republican leadership for a vote on Monday, May 15.
It is not known why the sudden movement on the bill was revealed today, and why no public announcement had yet been made.
Of course, this will make it more diffcult for activists to make their views known on the bill or to modify it so as to provide more financial resources to countries, especially in sub-Saharan Africa.
Those wanting to be heard should contact the Capitol Hill switchboard and make their views known that they
want to seeing the funding for the bill increased, and to see specific language added that will ensure that African countries will have access to the money.
