If you have set up any bookmarks linking to AIHA's web site, you probably
will need to create new bookmarks or update your old ones. The old site is
still temporarily accessible on-line, and though it looks the same, you
will not have access to the new site unless you update your bookmarks to
www.aiha.com.
New Features:
* Advanced searching capabilities - http://www.aiha.com/english/search.htm
- You can still do keyword searches of the Web site, but now you can limit
your searches to different sections or categories of the site, including
"Health Resources," "General Resources," and "AIHA Publications." Note
that you can search for Russian-language keywords as well. As noted on the
search page, if you are searching "All" sections of the site, this will not
encompass three particular sections of the site (which can be searched
separately). These three sections are the three new searchable databases
that have been incorporated into the site-Medical Information by Subject,
Country Health Information, and the Multilingual Document Library
(translated materials).
* Multilingual Document Library -
http://www.aiha.com/english/health/transmat/ - This database of translated
materials is now completely searchable by language, subject, and keyword.
We have also incorporated the capability to automatically request copies of
documents included in the database through an on-line form. (Note,
however, that some documents must be requested from third-party
organizations.) Searches can be limited to documents that are available
on-line, documents that AIHA distributes, or newly added materials.
* The Medical Information by Subject
(http://www.aiha.com/english/health/medlinks/) and Country Health
Information (http://www.aiha.com/english/general/chi/) may look the same as
they did before, but they are now being generated from a database. What
this means is that it is now much easier for us to update these pages with
links to other resources. If you come across useful or interesting links
related to these subject areas, please let us know so we can add the link
to the database and it will automatically show up the next time you visit
the page.
* On-Line Conferences / Chat Forum
(http://www.aiha.com/english/general/chat.htm) - The Web site is now
running software that sets up chat rooms that anyone with access to the
site can use. All you need to do is create a username for yourself. In
the next couple of months, we are planning to start organizing some chat
sessions for the partners.
We're still in the process of doing a lot of tweaking of the site, and
there are a lot of other changes in the works. (We've fallen a bit behind
on some of the content areas as we've been officially without a Webmaster
for the past seven months.) We do want to encourage your feedback and
comments on ways that we can try to improve the site, so please check it out.
